Sound Shapes + Pixeljam + DeadMau5

Hello Pixeljammers.

Sound Shapes + Pixeljam + Deadmau5 on the PS Vita

Well, the secret has been out for a couple months that we've been one of the guest artists collaborating on Queasy Games upcoming Sound Shapes for the Playstation Vita and the PS3. You may know Jon Mak/Queasy Games from such fine games as Everyday Shooter.

Recently at E3 there was finally an official announcement for a release date for Sound Shapes for mid-august.  You can read the full Sony release here, written by Matthew Kumar, who we worked closely with on designing our levels & entities & keeping it all super-tight.

More exciting news is that the 'Album' (a set of levels pairing particular visual artists and musicians together) that Pixeljam has been working on is scored with music samples & beats by Deadmau5. It sounds pretty great. Here are some links to the original announcement of our collaboration, with some video footage:

Other artists included in Sounds Shapes are Superbrothers + Jim Guthrie.  It appears that the remaining artists and musician pairings are as yet un-announced, so, I guess that's all I can say.

Sound Shapes itself is a whole lot of fun to play. All the Albums are all very unique & different experiences, yet still based on the same very simple gameplay mechanic & goals. It's impressive. I (Rich) really look forward to  playing it and will actually be picking up a PS Vita to do so properly. If I wind up making new levels with the Vita editor I'll be sure to let people know & share them with the Sound Shapes community. :)

Giant Robot: Game Night 10

This Saturday night, June 16, 2012, Alpha versions of both Glorkian Warrior - The Video Game and Glorkbot's Mini-Adventure will be available to play at Giant Robot LA's Game Night 10!

Game Night 10

James Kochalka will also be showing a bunch of new original paintings at the show.

These will be very alpha versions of the games. They both have a ways to go before completion, but we're happy to let people at least check out what we've got so far, and potentially provide some feedback that may help them to become better games in the end. We'll ask to have a suggestions box near the games or something.

none of us are able to travel & attend the event, unfortunately, so if you happen to be one of the ones that plays the games, please send us some feedback. Thanks!

Captain Commander

Captain Commander

Do you have what it take to help self-imagined badass space hero Captain Commander rescue the human captives from a hostile alien world, take out the alien mother-brain fortress and handle the barrage of grammatically incorrect taunts and insults? If you're thinking "YES!" (or even "Maybe.."), then click no further than the link below to play our latest game on adultswim.com:

Glorkian Warrior!

We've just started a new project with comic book artist James Kochalka, called Glorkian Warrior. We're unusually excited about this, since we've been fans of James' work for a long time. You can get gobs of info on the game here:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pixeljam/james-kochalka-pixeljam-glorkian-warrior

As you can tell we are raising funds to help the development of the game. We've saved up some money from all the adult swim projects, but it's not enough to fund the entire game. Anyone who helps back the project will get a free copy of the game when it is released. Woo hoooo!!!!

Glork

And yes, it's Jame's hand drawn art in the game, but there will be also be pixelly parts to the game starring the Glorkian's pocket pixel robot.
