Moogfest 2014 & Collider Fest with Pixeljam

A little over a couple years ago Miles was the first of the company to move to Asheville, North Carolina with his family. That’s where he met me, Alex, and I began working with Pixeljam. Rich moved shortly after that in the fall and later on Jeffrey would also move to Asheville to be with the rest of the team. Asheville is a great place to live and the majority of the company now is based here. Naturally what we do can all be done digitally from any place in the world, but working together in one place with our team gives us a productivity boost.

This week we’ll all be going out to experience Moogfest 2014: a music festival taking place downtown Asheville that is a synthesis of Music, Technology and Art. As a company our vision is in full alignment with these principles and so we are participating in a local event at The Emerald Lounge called “Collider Fest: Art Collides With Technology”. We will be showcasing our rich game history and create a space for people to play our library of retro games and chat with our crew.

The Collider is a “Climate Tech Accelerator located in the heart of Asheville North Carolina”. (Asheville Collider). Collider Fest is their opportunity to show some of the businesses that are local to Asheville. Now that most of us are all here we take some pride in being and Asheville based company. We’re curious to find out more about what the Collider is and what it can do for technology. I have heard them talk about the possibility of creating a “Silicon Mountain” in Asheville, having tech companies come out to live and work here. The mountains here are gorgeous, with a wealth of opportunities for outdoor fun and cultural exchange in a town that has a relaxed open minded vibe.

We’re excited to spend the week checking out the daytime presentations at Moogfest as well as the incredible music lineup. Personally I am super excited to see Saul Williams, Georgio Moroder, and Kraftwerk. Kraftwerk!

If you live in, near, or within a weekend trip distance of Asheville, we highly recommend you check out the event at the Emerald Lounge, and come say hello!

See you at Moogfest!
