Glorkian Warrior Mac / PC Launch!

Hello folks!

We’re very excited to announce the Mac and PC versions of Glorkian Warrior. As you know, this one has been in development for a really long time, but it’s finally available for the world to play. Head on over to to buy the game, which we think is a VERY good idea.

You can also check out a free online demo of the game by clicking right here.

If you are wondering why the game took so long to make, I highly suggest reading this blog post I wrote about it last week. It’s a long read, but worth your time.

Thanks to all our extremely patient backers and fans, and keep on glorkin.

Art Contest Winner Announcement for Glorkian Warrior

Glorkian Warrior: The Trials of Glork is no longer on sale and the art contest has finished as well. We got some great submissions from a bunch of folks and I’m here to announce the winners.

Did you see that the Glorkian Warrior: The Trials of Glork OST dropped last week as well? If you loved the chiptune soundtrack provided by Mark DeNardo, go ahead and check that out first, maybe even give it a listen while you are browsing through the amazing artwork we received for the art contest.

First I’ll announce the two runners up for the big prize of the James Kochalka painting which you can see here:

First I have to say we are going to send a runner up pack over to this wonderful 8 year old, Jaden, for their artwork. They sent us over three pieces, here’s one of them:

Next we have our 3rd place winner (who will receive a copy of Glorkian Warrior Delivers a Pizza). This piece was done by Christopher Burdett:

Our second place winner will also receive a copy of the graphic novel provided by First Second Books. Here’s that artwork by Memmil:

Finally the winner of the James Kochalka painting, as well as a copy of the Glorkian Warrior Delivers a Pizza graphic novel is… Matt Talbot! Thanks Matt for your awesome work, I think the office needs a blacklight and a good print of this. Here’s his beautiful artwork:

Indiecade E3 Showcase 2014 of Glorkian Warrior: The Trials of Glork

The Indiecade E3 Showcase 2014 is happening right now and we have a man on the floor, our illustrious Mark DeNardo. We submitted Glorkian Warrior: Trials of Glork and it was selected as an official 2014 Indiecade Selection. Mark of course did the music for Glorkian Warrior so he’s the perfect man to show the game off.

Glorkian Warrior Indiecade E3 Showcase 2014

You can visit us at Booth #2835 located in the South Hall. E3 is June 10-12th 2014 so another day to check out what’s happening in the gaming world until the next event!

You may remember another one of our games as an Indiecade Selection last year… Potatoman Seeks the Troof! Potatoman seeks the Troof was a “Digital Select”; “Official Digital Selctions are a curated collection of some of our favorite and best indie games from the past year.” (2013 Digital Selects here).

E3 is jam packed with heaps of great new games, demos, prototypes and creators! This is one of the biggest gaming events of the year, which is why Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, et cetera are all well represented here. This will be Indiecade’s 8th Annual Showcase and we’re proud to be a selection from it. Will Glorkian Warrior Trials of Glork be an Indiecade finalist?!

We won’t know that for a while, but perhaps if you are at E3 you could come by and show us some love. For now we’re happy to sport this magical seal and hope it changes color later in the year.

Are you at E3? What are your favorite things you are seeing there? Let us know in the comments. (Click that little link down there.)

Glork! Games! Indie Games! From Pixeljam!

Hello Pixeljammers! It’s me, Alex, your trusty Firekeeper for Pixeljam. Wow what a crazy month we’ve had this last month. We launched our first iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch game: Glorkian Warrior: Trials of Glork. You may have seen it… or if you haven’t, you might have a problem if you are reading this considering it’s plastered on our site and we’ve been talking about it constantly for a bit now.

If you just started hearing about this project this year you may be wondering what’s going on with Pixeljam. Are we still making retro 8 bit games? Yes settle down retro gaming is still our core; who would pass up an opportunity to work with the amazing James Kochalka (especially on a super-fun video game with beautiful hand-drawn cartoon graphics)?

We still managed to keep our old-school gaming vibes bringing in super classic gameplay a la Galaga, Galaxian, Super Mario Bros., and Space Invaders. If you haven’t been able to play it you probably just don’t have an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, am I right? Well you Androids out there will have your time in the sun too, alas you must be patient (you too PC and Mac gamers out there).

Next on the Glorkian docket is our first content update. I’ve been instructed not to reveal anything yet as we’re not 100% solid on what is going to be included in this content update. I have to say though (just because I love our fans) that the drawings I’ve seen from Mr. Kochalka are pretty fantastic. More colorful comic book style loveliness must happen! We’ll see what that entails. If you have checked out before you may have seen the Glorkian Guide, and might have noticed this guy:

We’ve been teasing that guy for a while now, you just didn’t know it… I hope to reveal some more stuff for you in the coming days for that, as well as some details on the forthcoming chiptune accompaniment soundtrack release from our very own Mark Denardo.

That’s all the indie game news I’ve got for you today from Pixeljam folks. Stay tuned. Glork.

Glorkian Warrior: The Trials of Glork

I’m extremely excited to announce the launch of our new game, GLORKIAN WARRIOR. It’s a hybrid of simple platforming action, Galaga-style shooter-em-up and Saturday morning cartoon… made in collaboration with our good friend and amazing cartoonist JAMES KOCHALKA.

You may not know this, but we’ve been working on this game in one form or another for 4 years.  Yes, we did release a lot of games during that time, but this was always the one we “came back to” so to speak. James has stuck with us through many ups and downs, and we’re all very glad to be crossing the finish line together.

It’s truly been a labor of love, and we hope you enjoy playing it!

Ready to Get Your Fill of Energy Crackers?

Hey Pixeljammers out there. We know you’re eager to consume more delicious things… how about some energy crackers? Wait… what are energy crackers? *Google searches*… oh.

Well while our first shipment of energy crackers from the Glorkian Nebula is on it’s way to Earth, we have a little tasty tidbit for you to munch on. You chew on all your Youtube videos for Indie Gaming, right? I know I do.

We’re really excited for the imminent forthcomingness of our newest endeavor… a hand-drawn retro game featuring the art of James Kochalka! It’s been in development for quite some time now and we’ve tested a lot of ideas about how to transmit the data we’ve been receiving from the Glorkian Nebula into a Earth-consumable format. Our Battle Simulator, Glorkian Warrior: Trials of Glork is being beta-tested as we speak (or read, as it were).

Thanks a glork!

The Glorkian Academy Has Opened!

As we get closer to the launch of our Glorkian Warrior game for iOS, we have decided to launch a new website that will be our center for information relating to all things Glork! James Kochalka has assisted us in this endeavor.

This site was a blast to create for the project and I’m really excited about the game itself to launch. It really has some fun elements and little touches which are a reflection of James’ humor.

Over time we’ll be revealing new “Guide” content with characters and elements from the game, so keep your eyes open for that. After the game launches you will be able to “Join the Academy!” and get exclusive content (free of course).

Check it out!

Glorkian Warrior goes BETA!

Glorkian Warrior: The Trials of Glork went BETA today! We are very excited about this for multiple reasons. Shall I list them? Okay, well, the FIRST is we’ve been working on something Glork-related with James Kochalka for about 3 years now, but we haven’t managed to keep enough momentum on anything to see it to completion…. until now.

The SECOND reason is that this is our first game designed for mobile devices. We’re targeting iOS first, then Android. Eventually we’ll do Mac / PC / Atari 2600, etc

The THIRD reason is that the game is just a lot of fun, and we can’t wait for people to play it. We’re going to make an official annoucnement (Press, etc) early next week, and then the promo parade shall continue until launch.
