Glorkian Warrior: The Trials of Glork is no longer on sale and the art contest has finished as well. We got some great submissions from a bunch of folks and I’m here to announce the winners.
Did you see that the Glorkian Warrior: The Trials of Glork OST dropped last week as well? If you loved the chiptune soundtrack provided by Mark DeNardo, go ahead and check that out first, maybe even give it a listen while you are browsing through the amazing artwork we received for the art contest.
First I’ll announce the two runners up for the big prize of the James Kochalka painting which you can see here:
First I have to say we are going to send a runner up pack over to this wonderful 8 year old, Jaden, for their artwork. They sent us over three pieces, here’s one of them:
Next we have our 3rd place winner (who will receive a copy of Glorkian Warrior Delivers a Pizza). This piece was done by Christopher Burdett:
Our second place winner will also receive a copy of the graphic novel provided by First Second Books. Here’s that artwork by Memmil:
Finally the winner of the James Kochalka painting, as well as a copy of the Glorkian Warrior Delivers a Pizza graphic novel is… Matt Talbot! Thanks Matt for your awesome work, I think the office needs a blacklight and a good print of this. Here’s his beautiful artwork:

The Indiecade E3 Showcase 2014 is happening right now and we have a man on the floor, our illustrious Mark DeNardo. We submitted Glorkian Warrior: Trials of Glork and it was selected as an official 2014 Indiecade Selection. Mark of course did the music for Glorkian Warrior so he’s the perfect man to show the game off.
You can visit us at Booth #2835 located in the South Hall. E3 is June 10-12th 2014 so another day to check out what’s happening in the gaming world until the next event!
You may remember another one of our games as an Indiecade Selection last year… Potatoman Seeks the Troof! Potatoman seeks the Troof was a “Digital Select”; “Official Digital Selctions are a curated collection of some of our favorite and best indie games from the past year.” (2013 Digital Selects here).
E3 is jam packed with heaps of great new games, demos, prototypes and creators! This is one of the biggest gaming events of the year, which is why Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, et cetera are all well represented here. This will be Indiecade’s 8th Annual Showcase and we’re proud to be a selection from it. Will Glorkian Warrior Trials of Glork be an Indiecade finalist?!
We won’t know that for a while, but perhaps if you are at E3 you could come by and show us some love. For now we’re happy to sport this magical seal and hope it changes color later in the year.
Are you at E3? What are your favorite things you are seeing there? Let us know in the comments. (Click that little link down there.)

Hello Pixeljammers! It’s me, Alex, your trusty Firekeeper for Pixeljam. Wow what a crazy month we’ve had this last month. We launched our first iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch game: Glorkian Warrior: Trials of Glork. You may have seen it… or if you haven’t, you might have a problem if you are reading this considering it’s plastered on our site and we’ve been talking about it constantly for a bit now.
If you just started hearing about this project this year you may be wondering what’s going on with Pixeljam. Are we still making retro 8 bit games? Yes settle down retro gaming is still our core; who would pass up an opportunity to work with the amazing James Kochalka (especially on a super-fun video game with beautiful hand-drawn cartoon graphics)?
We still managed to keep our old-school gaming vibes bringing in super classic gameplay a la Galaga, Galaxian, Super Mario Bros., and Space Invaders. If you haven’t been able to play it you probably just don’t have an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, am I right? Well you Androids out there will have your time in the sun too, alas you must be patient (you too PC and Mac gamers out there).
Next on the Glorkian docket is our first content update. I’ve been instructed not to reveal anything yet as we’re not 100% solid on what is going to be included in this content update. I have to say though (just because I love our fans) that the drawings I’ve seen from Mr. Kochalka are pretty fantastic. More colorful comic book style loveliness must happen! We’ll see what that entails. If you have checked out GlorkianWarrior.com before you may have seen the Glorkian Guide, and might have noticed this guy:
We’ve been teasing that guy for a while now, you just didn’t know it… I hope to reveal some more stuff for you in the coming days for that, as well as some details on the forthcoming chiptune accompaniment soundtrack release from our very own Mark Denardo.
That’s all the indie game news I’ve got for you today from Pixeljam folks. Stay tuned. Glork.

Glorkian Warrior: The Trials of Glork went BETA today! We are very excited about this for multiple reasons. Shall I list them? Okay, well, the FIRST is we’ve been working on something Glork-related with James Kochalka for about 3 years now, but we haven’t managed to keep enough momentum on anything to see it to completion…. until now.
The SECOND reason is that this is our first game designed for mobile devices. We’re targeting iOS first, then Android. Eventually we’ll do Mac / PC / Atari 2600, etc
The THIRD reason is that the game is just a lot of fun, and we can’t wait for people to play it. We’re going to make an official annoucnement (Press, etc) early next week, and then the promo parade shall continue until launch.
